Copenhagen Social World Summit, 1995
Four continental forums were held in February 1995: in Beijing for Asia, in Rio de Janeiro for America, in Paris for Europe, and in Cape Town for Africa. These simultaneous forums, which preceded the Copenhagen Social World Summit, brought together citizens from more than sixty countries as the image of the emerging global community, both rooted in specific local realities and prepared to take up the present challenges on a global scale. |
