John Samuel

John Samuel, who is based in Bangkok, is Head of Governance at ActionAid International, one of the largest international-development and human-rights organizations, active in 50 countries across the world. Prior to joining Actionaid International, he was instrumental in establishing the National Centre for Advocacy Studies in 1993 in India and served as its Chief Executive till 2003. John is Founder and Co-editor of Infochange News and Features, the most frequented daily development news channel in South Asia.
John serves on the board of many national and international organizations, including the World Social Forum’s International Council, and serves as an Adviser to the UN Millennium Development Goals Campaign and as member of the Civil Society Advisory Board of the Commonwealth Foundation.
